One much needed moment of levity. On MSNBC reporter on camera and background topiary animal gyrating weirdly in the wind. Think that might be the Ritz.

Networks should be ashamed of giving camera time to folks out in the storm against emergency workers advice .....

Unbelievable.

Many journalist put their lives on the line, Richard Engel, Christine Amanpour, Bob Woodruff, Lara Logan, just to name a few......

Interesting thought....a kinda sick one.....but interesting.

Funny.... I don't know if it was coincidence or design...but the National Geographic channels have been running a LOT of different documentaries about Atlantis. And some of the theories that have been presented and sort of proven in some cases....even if the sites were not Atlantis...but the results the same....has scary parallels to how Miami came about. I don't know much about Tampa proper to comment. Is it the same profile?

Wish them well....at this point that is all we can do.

Tampa-st pete is a metroplex of about 3 millions souls and like all of florida is built mainly on sand and barely above sea level. It's on the west coast about halfway up and is sited directly on the bay it gets it's name from. The west coast is "old florida" and my favorite part of the state.

Nothing is permanent-not even cities-except in our arrogance. Mother nature will win everytime.....eventually.

We assume so. They are in a large hotel in Orlando, and that part of the state is getting much less of a hit with wind than the western coastal areas.

Well they maybe nuts. But on the other hand.....like most in the military.....some know the task at hand HAS to be done....it is called GUTS..... I think.

Dont bother with one of your snappy comeback, These are your and my opinions as in 'I think'.

Quote

1. The military folks who stayed in Key West during the hurricane are all ok.
2. Key West has no electricity, running water, cell phone service nor emergency services. They haven't accessed Trumbo, Truman Annex or Sigsbee housing areas yet, but hope to do soonest.
3. They went to the Naval Air Station at Boca Chica and the airfield only sustained minor damage. Good news for getting people and supplies to Key West.
