I got it. I put Hamster Horror in the search box. Pebbles is probably having a late night snack this very moment.  🙂 Hamster Horror could be a movie. 🙂

Personally, I would’ve dropped Pebbles into my purse, zipped it up and kept my mouth shut. I hope that’s what that goofy girl did...and now she, and her lawyer, are   trying to get their 15 minutes.

She’ll forever be known as the Hamster Girl

I just can’t get past the idea of an emotional support hamster.  It’s so preposterous.  Someone needs to look at the “medical” person that approved this.

What every happened to Rosary Beads and worry beads or two large ball bearings (think Bogart...Strawberries).

There was a time when support animals were legit...now it is just exploration of the system so poor Fluffy doesn't have to be in that mean old cargo bay and to fulfill the 'I'm special' factor so many people need now a days.

I am all for legit...but the rest. Kick them off the plane....close the door. While it is still on the ground of course.

Are you saying you use them?

I admit it.....I used them in meetings when I worked for Compaq.

After I was ahhhhhh banned from speaking but had to attend the meeting. I registered my irritations by the 'clack' factor. I figured since I can't speak...I could maybe irritate them enough to let me out of the meetings. But the wouldn't so I clacked...I love 'the look'.

Digital had been bought by Compaq. Of course Compaq brought their people in...and f'ed everything up...and I had pointed out WAY AHEAD OF TIME....that the geniuses plans A,B and C sucked...and offered my X,Y and Z. Of course blown off...they went with A, B and C...which failed...and the 'rebranded' my X,Y and Z's with their names...that worked.

Hence the gag order....so to speak.

Fortunately, Digital/Compaq was bought by HP....the Compaq naysayers were gone completely ... and HP listened....my clacking stopped....life was good.

I still have mine. When I have to have a face to face with my sister on  family issues... I bring them since she doesn't allow smoking or chewing tobacco....and drinking is a no no.

So I clack my brains out.....I love my sister....but I think she worked for Compaq ... a know it all...that knows nothing outside of special education. Has a PhD....but clueless about life. But I love her dearly.

Excerpts...   https://patriotpost.us/opinion/53964-snakes-on-a-plane-for-emotional-support

"When next you shoehorn yourself into one of America’s ever-shrinking airline seats, you might encounter a new wrinkle in the romance of air travel. You might be amused, or not, to discover a midsize — say, 7-feet long — boa constrictor named Oscar coiled contentedly, or so you hope, in the seat next to you. Oscar is an “emotional-support animal.” He belongs to the person in the seat on the other side of him, and he is a manifestation of a new item, or the metastasizing of an old item, on America’s menu of rights. Fortunately, the federal government is on the case, so you can relax and enjoy the flight."

"Delta experienced a nearly one-year doubling of what it delicately calls “incidents” (urinating, defecating, biting). “Farm poultry,” hedgehogs and creatures with tusks are unwelcome on Delta, which is going to be alert regarding the booming market for forged documents attesting to emotional neediness. The Association of Flight Attendants is pleased, perhaps because one of its members was asked to give a dog oxygen because the dog’s owner said it was having a panic attack."

"But the proliferation of emotional-support animals suggests that a cult of personal fragility is becoming an aspect of the quest for the coveted status of victim. The cult is especially rampant in colleges and universities, which increasingly embrace the therapeutic mission of assuaging the anxieties of the emotionally brittle. There, puppies are deployed to help students cope with otherwise unbearable stresses, such as those caused by final exams or rumors of conservatism."

God I am getting old. I still remember when you wore your 'Sunday Best'....men in ties ...when you flew.

Now a days it seems a plane flight is nothing more than a city bus with wings.

They dressed like that for baseball games too, but I’m glad that changed. :o

Very true. There was a time when the US had 'class'...heck men wore hats with brims and not backward baseball caps.

I dunno.... I understand today's more relaxed dress code. But when I see guys walking on board that look like the just are getting over an all nighter and women that look like they should be saying 'hey sailor'.

Well it kinda diminishes the flight experience:lol:....along with whiny kids that kick the back of your seat and now 'emotional support animals'....yikes.

In the summer I roll my eyes at people flying in cut-offs, tank tops & flip flops. (Except for some Gals anyway) Well if there's an Emergency, my work boots are gonna leave Tracks on your back getting out of the plane. Last trip out to LV in Dec. I felt crammed into my seat in the New SW interior this time more than ever. I remember the older seats feeling better. Thinking this may have been my last trip there. Getting to the Age where the whole day travel ordeal just isn't worth it anymore. Driving to BWI, parking in long term then getting the shuttle to the terminal Then all the security stuff and finally boarding. Non-stop the flight alone is 5:30 out & 4:30 back. Pick up the luggage from the carousel and grab the shuttle to the rental car terminal and finally drive to the hotel/casino. Then repeat the whole thing in reverse to get home. It's easily 8-9 hours Total each day, it's Tiring! I'm not Young anymore. I can drive myself in comfort to AC listening to my tunes or audiobooks in 3hrs flat or a little less sometimes. I really have to think Hard about doing all that Flying stuff again. We'll see in a few more months.

Early on I used to wear proper shoes....and a tie.....at the end I was always wearing  Nikes or NBs with good tread....and my Croc Dundee canvas travel coat. ....I was like a concealed back pack. But if there was an issue....I my 'stuff'.  That coat was as ugly as sin....over 30 years old tens of thousands of miles traveling and looks brand new.

Flip flops need not apply.....my niece does it when traveling...and my coats way to big.....smh.

FYI - AC from Balto. - Straight up 95 across the Del Mem Br up onto the NJ TPKE to Exit 3, cut through the little town of Runnemede on 168 for 10-15 min or so then get on 42 which bears left in a few more miles onto the AC Expwy and go straight in. Come back the same way. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is scheduled to open in the old Taj Mahal this summer and some other group is also planning to re-open Revel too.

I take ..it up to the bridge....pick up 40 before the NJ TPKE starts ..take it down to the white horse....onto Ventnor.

I took that route you described...I prefer the nice scenic farm land and pine barrens.

Took that Old way Once when my Mom was still here. Yeah you go thru all the small towns but if I recall it took at least 4hrs or so that way. NJ is partly my 2nd homeground. Still have some cousins up in Forked River and Dad's folks lived right off Rt9 below Toms River. That whole side of my family is up in NJ. I've been to Seaside Heights many times as a kid. I Lived for those times! Used to go fishing on my Grandfathers & Uncles boat out on Barnegat Bay. I remember when you could still see the Navy Blimps that flew out of Lakehurst when we were out there. Asbury Park, Belmar, Point Pleasant, seen them all. Even AC way before they ever had the casinos. Later in the 70's I lived in Linden up by the old GM plant and worked in Port Newark/Elizabeth and Bayonne for a few years starting out my career in the marine industry up there before coming back here.

Yes it takes that long....but not much longer than the other way you suggest and more relaxing....to me.

God you must be near the same age as I sm if you can recall the blimps....still out looking for Nazi's

I grew up in South River NJ and had GREAT summers for years at Midway....you know where I am talking about?....my Grandmother had a bungalow..spent my summers there for the most part....saddest day in my life was when my extended family sold it. Most all my extended family is in NJ or Fl or Texas now.

Do you remember blow fish in the crab traps....great eating....but back then they were considered 'trash fish'...nearly lost a toe a couple of times pulling trot lines for crabs and an Oyster cracker got nasty.

I'm 65 now, Never thought I'd get Here! How'd This happen? Yeah, I remember catching lots of Blowfish and we'd cook them up anyway but we were really trying to catch Flounder. My Grandfather said the Blowfish were scaring all of them away but we did catch some of them. We used to have a trap full of Minnows at the dock & we'd bait the hooks with them to fish. Not that much into Crabbing up there as here. My relatives would go Nuts over our Steamed Crabs down here. They didn't know what Old Bay was up there. Not really familiar with Midway or South River, my people were all down below Toms River & in Forked River closer to the Shore. Wasn't that long of a drive to Seaside Heights and a bit further to Asbury, Belmar & Point Pleasant. Only went to AC once when I was a kid and I recall it as a Dump then. Everything on the boardwalk was closed or boarded up and not much to do or see then. So when I finally returned to AC in the 90's with the Casinos in full swing, I could see how they really Saved that town. Asbury Park had more going on there at that time from what I remember with their arcades & amusements. Saddens me to see that's all Gone now. We ate at that Howard Johnsons! As I said I lived in Linden & worked Port Newark & Elizabeth from '76 to '80 when I was in my mid 20's. When I wasn't working on a weekend I was back down here but I did stick around some times and spent many weekends playing around in NYC! ;););)
