Illegal kills 3 people and sentenced to two years

37 posts in this topic

3 lives taken = two year prison sentence with 500 plus days suspended running concurrently with his federal sentence after being changed with re-entry into the country illegally after being deported. What is wrong with our judicial system?

'Cause if he'd been a citizen, it'd be okay?

Maybe these two beautiful kids and husbands life could have been saved if the government did their job to keep out illegals instead of protecting them. What the value of life to you? Two years, 10 years 30 years?

Quote

District Judge Benjamin Smith honored the plea agreement with prosecutors, sentencing Quintero to the maximum two years in prison. Quintero will get credit for the 537 days he has already served in jail.

Our "justice" system at work.

With him I am sure it would depend on the victims demographics.

And he accepted his responsibility (pleaded guilty), which is more than the poor little rich kid and his parents did.

And that event was abhorrent to everyone as I recall.

Does that justify such a lenient sentence in this case?

What would have been a fair sentence?  This was a negligent homicide where Mr. Rosales fell asleep at the wheel.  How many people have ever driven while drowsy?  It is an unfortunate accident that deserves some punishment but not his head on stick.

Wasn't Heather Cooke sentenced to 7 years?  And that involved a drunken driving death.

Anything beyond 5 years for Mr. Rosales actions would imply to me that his sentence is being biased by his nationality.  What is the typical sentence for actions similar to Mr. Rosales that do not involve alcohol?

He would have been charged more harshly more than likely for three charges of negligent homicide. Screw the illegal part of the story. A family was destroyed because he freaking fell asleep at the wheel  for whatever reason.

Bingo.

We're supposed to ignore that, and only focus on crimes if the perp was the wrong ethnicity.

And what happened to him and his goof ball mommy after that mess was over?

Karma deals out justice better than any court will in that case.

The defendant pleaded guilty, the drunk teenager and his mommy left the country to avoid his sentence.

The illegal defendant bargained a guilty plea deal which was a very light sentence that ran concurrent with his federal sentence on illegal re-entry.

Yes  he pleaded guilty, admitted and took responsibility for his crime.

Has that affluenza or his parents ever once admitted to his actions or apolized for the damage he has done?

No he was caught at another party drinking.

I agree it is on the light side.  If it was a commercial trucker he would have been punished far more

Again you will not get an argument out of me with the way the case was handled with the teen and his parents.

Criminals normally take plea deals to save lengthy prison sentences and cry a river of tears admitting they was wrong for their actions. Most of the time it just an Oscar winning performance for leniency from the court system.

Who needs a degree on behavioral health when you sit in court and watch repeat offenders use the same lame stories to plea out day in and day out and get away with their performances.
