VP Pence’s NFL counter protest

CNN:

How much did Vice President Mike Pence's trip to Indianapolis to watch -- and then abruptly leave -- a football game Sunday between the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers cost?

Here is an estimate of just the air costs (which does not include costs of advance personnel, Secret Service or support on the ground):

According to the Air Force, flying a C-32, the model of plane used for Air Force 2, for one hour costs about $30,000. Pence's flight from Las Vegas to Indianapolis Saturday took about three hours and 20 minutes, so it cost about $100,000

Pence then flew from Indianapolis to Los Angeles on Sunday, which took about four hours and 45 minutes, costing about $142,500.
The grand total: about $242,500.

For all those who truly believe it was a stunt, the man is the former Gov of Indiana, its his home state. He was at the ceremony for the retirement of Peyton Manning's number. Looks to be his favorite team.

But didn't all the player protests die down .?? Someone forgot to tell the 49er's ........

Low 6 figures?  2017 base salary for every member of the house and senate is $174,000 per year.  Leadership positions are all over $190,000.  The POTUS makes $400,000 per year.  And that isn't even including the lifetime benefits, pension, and other perks they enjoy which are not available to the ordinary citizen.  That places most of these people in the top 1% that people like to disdain as part of the income inequality.  I can think of one way to start chopping away at that inequality.

174,000 is a low six figure. I'm not going to argue such a clearly valid statement.

They had died down before  Trump's nonsense in Alabama.

Yesterday would be after that.

Before/after, huh? So hard.

There were no more team kneels. There are still individual players doing so.

If the media didn't show it then it dies out.

Most of the hypocrtes who swore off of football for the rest of their lives, are already back to watching and attending.

Pence's power trip cost a lot, but it wasn't worth a damn.

What? He flew from Vegas to Indy, back to LA then to DC. The wasteful political stunt part is easy to see.

DC/Vegas/LA/DC versus

DC/Vegas/Indy/LA/DC

The media was advised by Pence staff to stay in the media van at Lucas, as an early exit was likely.

And then you have Pence's staff throwing this bull****. So they're not just despicable, they're stupid as well.

And if the President didn't make a big deal about it in an effort to distract from yet another repeal failure, there would be no issue.

Obviously projection.  But what a great way to distract his easily manipulated base from yet another legislative failure.

Pence leaving the game was a stunt to divert attention from all of the disastrous things going on in the party.  He should have just stayed away for the game.  He knew they would probably kneel.

I’m offended that he wasted $250,000 tax payer dollars to make a point that he could’ve made in a Tweet or interview

That's lame.

They all waste money traveling.

Funny how taking a knee is free speech but leaving a game is "oppression"

The Den Party is doing far more damage to itself than any Repub could do.
