Unfortunately it happens all too often.

I'd imagine it happens in most trials. Do keep in mind that this is the prosecutor speaking. Like the defender, he will not be unbiased in his evaluation of the jury's performance.

In our fair but imperfect system, there is no way possible to eliminate all preconceived ideas, prejudices or beliefs. This is not newsworthy.

Unfortunately it happens all too often.

You wanted to focus on something that is part of human nature as the main story here, instead of what I consider the main story:  a former police officer was finally convicted.
