Good point. I want to see if north point finally breaks through the Anne Arundel County barrier. They’ve had some good teams over the years but can’t seem to get out of the region. This seems like the best shot have.

The 4 seed as beaten the 1 seed a bunch of different times in this region. Especially after Meade gave Broadneck all they can handle a few weeks ago. Broadneck better be on alert this weekend. I do agree that North Point has to get it done this year, or there will be some doubts if they ever will.

I see Gwynn Park walking through the 2A regional.

The bigger question is does anyone see a team stopping or even giving Wise or
Damascus a challenge?

The DayWalker only cares about what's in it for The DayWalker and I want my Box Chocolates.  A nice unexpected upset in each round would do vamp just fine.  But being realistic as what innately I am, I could settle for Boonsboro taking out Allegany, Overlea downing Lewis, Roosevelt taking revenge on Flowers, and everyone holding service the 1st round this weekend...  :P

from what I am hearing in Frederick County, you better not sleep on Oakdale.  They played Walkersville tough the first time.  It should be a good game.

I'm very intrigued by the Edgewood Franklin game, I really think Edgewood has a chance to go there and win.

Damn, that breeze I just felt must be RobA batting his eyes over your statement MoreBalls....   :P

Now then, Edgewood did stick it to previously undefeated HdG.  Maybe you on to something....

Does anyone have any insight or an opinion on Perry Hall's chances at Paint Branch? I know P-Hall can score but I don't know anything about Paint Branch.

Paint Branch is a 2nd tier 4A team.  Will not win states but can make some noise.

They have a very good defense led by Maryland Commit Durell Nchami at OLB.

Offense has been sporadic but has improved as the season has progressed.  Relatively balanced running & passing.

The Panthers best win this season was 2pt win over Sherwood.  Only loss was 37pt loss to Quince Orchard.

Hereford at Forest Park (at Poly) - Forest Park's lack of quality regular season competition factors significantly in this game. This isn't the best Hereford team to ever make the playoffs, but the Bulls are better than any team Forest Park played this year. Also, the Bulls are riding the momentum from their hard-fought overtime win over playoff-bound Chesapeake last Saturday. This game won't be a blowout, but Hereford should win by a comfortable margin. Hereford-30, Forest Park-14.

Overlea at Reginald Lewis (at Dunbar) - Just like in the above-mentioned game, lack of challenging competition will hurt Lewis here. Lewis did not play one team from Baltimore City's top division. I look for the physical Overlea team to jump out to an early lead and control this game throughout. Overlea-22, Lewis-14.

Oakdale at Walkersville - This should be the best game of the first weekend of playoffs. Oakdale gave Walkersville its toughest test of the regular season before going down by a score of 19-13. It was Oakdale's only loss. There's an old adage that it's difficult to beat a good team twice in one season, but this Walkersville team appears to be a cut above. They win by a slightly larger margin in this rematch. Walkersville-24, Oakdale-14.

Also:

Elkton at Harford Tech

Edgewood at Franklin

Perry Hall at Paint Branch

Meade at Broadneck

Sherwood at Howard

And two private school Picks:

Avalon at Loyola - The Dons can't wait to get back into action and get win #2 in a close decision over the Avalon Frankies.

Calvert Hall vs Gilman (at CCBC Essex) - This one is for my man GreyhoundAlum. DILLY GILLY!!!

BMore City, is what Ops says about Forest Park true?  Is F Park essentially an untested team who has greatly benefited from weak opponents and more importantly that Hereford is going to wax the field with F Park's rear?
