Maybe we should look at what other western countries have done. You know, all the other countries that don’t have mass shootings every couple of weeks

Interesting read. I wish we could follow their model.

I would think a person like you is surprised every time the sun comes up

You vote for anti-gun Democrats so I figured you were anti-gun yourself.

I have voted for libertarians, green party, independents, Republicans, Democrats, you name it. I vote for candidates.

I am not anti gun.  I am also not pro gun.  But I have shot many guns and gone hunting plenty of times.

You need to understand that there are more than two view points in the world.

There is a reason why the Constitutional amendment process is difficult.  Helps to keep the fear of inanimate objects crowd from micturating every one else's individual rights.

They found the gunman's dead wife. Why did he feel the need to have 4 other random people pay for his crime?

Just senseless. No mental disease. Just pure unadulterated wickedness.

Never happen in America.

One sentence clarifies it;

"Australia has 28-day waiting periods, thorough background checks, and a requirement to present a "justifiable reason" to own a gun."

That portion of the statement is why it will never happen. And 28 days is meant for harassment and nothing more.

He had a gun that was good for a few more kills, it was an economical decision.

What is wrong with waiting 28 days? That doesn’t seem unreasonable to me.

Why? Why is that reasonable?

It would be pretty unreasonable for me.

That's the reason for the National Instant Check System.

It is a very unreasonable time to wait if you are in a quarrel with your wife or girlfriend and need to shoot her now. Or if you've just gotta kill yourself tout-de-suite. If you wait too long you might change your mind. It also cuts into gun sales if they can't cater to those types of impulse buy customers.

If you have to go and buy a gun to kill someone you've decided to kill...................

Incredible that someone would believe this.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Twenty eight days is a cooling off period. I would prefer longer, but it’s a start.

Thank you for confirming the ultimate goal of gun control advocates.

"cooling off period"? What a joke. You know as well as I do,n that it has nothing to do with it. It's just simple harassment and an intended impediment.

Still not gonna happen.

That genie is out of the bottle and not ever going back in.

" More than 6,000 guns were surrendered in Australia's most populous state in just one month, police said."

Yeah. And they think anybody here would turn theirs in voluntarily? Outside of a few old folks and maybe some Fudds..................

Be 10 times that in Baltimore, Memphis and Birmingham alone that WOULDN'T be turned in.
