Grad Students Would Be Hit By Massive Tax Hike Under House GOP Plan

who's more deserving a grad student or an unemployed mother of 4?

Why does it have to be either the grad student or the mother of 4?  Why not either the grad student and the mother of 4 or a multimillionaire?

The money under the House idea isn't going to the "mother of 4". It's going to corporations and rich heirs.

And this is a stupid idea all around. We already have a significant portion of grad students displaced by rich foreign kids who will take their fancy degrees back to their countries. Having less American grad students means more foreign students who aren't staying. And these are students who will make more and pay more taxes over the long term, but that's not how the House has been rolling on their development of their version of the bill.

I think we're all touched by the Republicsn Party's compassion for the unemployed as they try and take away their healthcare in order to give the rich a Scrooge Christmas.

Yeah I’m sure the PhD students at MIT are deeply committed to Marxism.

The right-wing really believe this. They are hostile to higher education, thus, they targeted this group.

They are attacking student loans as well.

Cutting off their nose dispute their face. American will suffer for this.

It may take a generation for this country to recover from Trump/GOP absolute rule.

Only in the mind of a radical leftist-socialist is the repayment of valid loan debt seen as an "attack."

Keeping people uneducated has to be a major goal for Trump and his ilk.

People don't need fancy educations because coal mining and low skilled, high paying manufacturing are about to take off.

The GOP should call it the “Reverse Robin  Hood” Tax Plan

Lots of cuts to things that help poor and Middle Class people so the wealthy can pay less taxes

You really have no clue what the phrase “absolute rule” means, do you?

Such claims are part of the hysteria he promotes on here.  You know, the whole "We're on the inevitable road to totalitarianism!!!!!" shtick.

House plans are not final plans.  The OP and others on this thread who are screaming as if it is probably already know that.

For the 8 years of the Obama admin, teh Repubs, unable to 'make Obama a one term Preznit', blocked each and every Democratic initiative they could.  They denied Obama his Supreme Court pick.  And now, they're about to go down as the first time in history that a major political party colluded with a sworn enemy of the USA in order to win a domestic election.

Since winning the election, their Preznit and they have moved to increase their monopoly on Federal power and physically and financially punish the lower classes which they hold is such low regard.

Now, you can choose to play word games, or you can GET THE POINT, and perhaps opine upon it.

The only point in that post is how exaggerated is it’s content.

The Republicans were under no obligation, constitutionally or otherwise, to advance Obama’s agenda - just as the Democrats are under no obligation  to advance Trump’s.

In spite of that loyal opposition, Obama got his health care through, was able to effectively ignore immigration law and doubled the debt.

Admittedly, the withholding of the USSC vote was politics at its most base level - but was not unconstitutional.

So far, the Trump Administration hasn’t been able to pass gas, never mind a bill.

Where is this absolute rule?

That's only because they're grossly incompetent.

That may well be true - which further moots the absolute rule nonsense.
