Old-timer. Coached my cousin under Waldron at SJC in the mid-late 70's, when SJC and Carroll were dominating the league. I rememember SJC Cadet Tyrone Barber going on to play at Notre Dame.

Crowell is the only basketball coach in MPSSAA history to lead his team to 3 straight 4A state titles, when he achieved that feat with the Blue Devils of Springbrook from '08-10. Only one other team in the last 55 years have won back-to-back titles in the largest classification in basketball (Northwestern), 49 years ago. Until this season, Springbrook was the only MPSSAA school to win 3 straight football state titles in the largest classification, when Bob Milloy's Blue Devils did it from '79-91, before the Wise Pumas matched the feat. Crowell was a longtime assistant to Milloy, first at Sherwood, before taking over the reigns when Milloy left for GC, then joined him on the Falcons staff, after 4 years leading the Warriors. In addition to his two stints at SJC, and his time at GC, and winning state titles at both Sherwood (football) and Springbrook (basketball) Crowell has also been a head coach at Blair and Wheaton.

Those Springbrook basketball teams were fun to watch!!

SC will reamin status Quo - they will have no offense and give up big play TDs IMO - not an up grade - stayed the same
