Trump and conservatism

From that bastion of liberal media "The National Review"

In many ways, Trumpism reflects the right-wing version of emotional safety and victimhood culture many conservatives criticize. Trump’s self-aggrandizing and fragile ego are emblematic of the self-esteem movement. Considering his age, he was ahead of the curve. Trump also employs safe-space tactics that have become all too common on many college campuses. Instead of promoting freedom, he champions censorship of speech he finds offensive and verbally attacks those who disagree him. Trump isn’t the future of conservatism. He is a prophetic warning of its retreat.

Soros and the capitol country club millionaires in congress can't control Trump. The media and establishment  just can't seem to throw him out of office but they are trying their best.

Another example of President Trump draining the swamp.

Your homework assignment: count the number of ex Goldman Sachs folks in Trump's cabinet and sub-cabinet. You'll need to take off your shoes.

Soros is 87. Presumably he's not long for this earth. Who's going to take over as head boogeyman when he's gone?

As to the topic, while Trump may not be a conservative, presumably National Review is a fan of tax cuts, deregulation, conservative justices, etc... Beneath all of Trump's nonsense, you are still getting some of the typical aspects of a Republican administration.

Trump's various populous ideas, at least on the economic front, appear to pure bs to get votes.  No surprise.  He doesn't seem to have a problem raising deficits, but then again most "conservatives" in power don't either as long as it benefits those at the top.

Conservatives have a strong belief in the rule of law.  Not so our current WH resident.
