Corporations may dodge billions in U.S. taxes through new loophole: experts

14 posts in this topic

Quelle surprise. The new tax law contains a loophole which will allow large corporations to dodge billions (in some individual cases, such as Apple, and in aggregate) by shifting their foreign cash positions.

This could be the result of rushed legislation, as one expert opines. That makes the GOP and Trump look kinda dumb. But maybe that's better than what they look like if they did it on purpose: biddable by monied interests. The consequences, perhaps, of Citizens United, without question the worst mistake the Supreme Court has made in my lifetime.

Definitely put in as a feature, not a bug.

But really, non-voters were fine with this happening.

We've already established that "neither choice is worth a vote" is beyond your comprehension; no need for you to keep hanging a lantern on it! :)

What we've already established is how utterly stupid and self-destructive that little bumper sticker saying was to this country.

And it's hammered in further every time you complain about something Trump does that you couldn't be bothered to oppose in the first place, when it mattered.

I did oppose it. By not voting for the man. This is the point that constantly evades you. Think *really hard* this time - not so hard you get a headache, wouldn't want that - but really hard. :)

Doesn't matter with any of them.

I didn't vote for him either ........but they insist I did.

You know that whole making up their own reality thing.

But you know what? If things keep going the way they are I will next time.

Which is not opposing it at all. You're saying you opposed it by not opposing it. :o

Does it actually make you feel better to say this to yourself?

I must from time to time remind myself that the world is full of things I can't have. One of them is you understanding anything more subtle than a partisan's view. :)
