You're right Pink,... not the time. The true comedy is that we're allowing the tools of these tragic events to remain on our streets, that's what's truly comic! No guns,.... no gun murders! Simple,... not complicated.

Here we go.

OK...simple put the mad dogs down and stop trying to feel sorry for them and figure them out and move on.

Watch this crap go down.

Not a 2A issue.

This happened in another "gun free" zone.

The shooter's name is Nicholas Cruz.

Former student who was expelled and banned from visiting and entering the school.

Previous threats had been made, including one to kill people there last year.

Preoccupation with guns according to his Facebook page according to latest news.

I just made a comment earlier today about how government buildings are protected under multiple armed guards but people are afraid of having teachers who are trained and qualified to handle weapons to help protect schools.

I'm wondering if the former student was also stopped by someone with a gun.  If so, it might have happened much sooner had they had more than one officer, if that, or armed teachers on the campus.

With sales slumping since Trump was elected, the gun industry is probably celebrating this little stimulus.

Really heard from some people they tried to stay away from him. Saying that he was a psycho. And he had way too much of an obsession with guns. That was a huge red flag that should had not been overlooked and those should had gone to the police. Maybe preventing this. Thoughts are with the victims and families.

Beg to differ,... this is absolutely a 2A issue!

You do know that guns can be brought into a gun free zone, from an 'gun stupid zone',... like the entire state of Florida. Right? All it takes is an insane abundance of guns, and a crazed person intent on doing harm.

The shooter's name is Nicholas Cruz

Yeah,... preoccupation with guns is a sure bet. Glaring neon sign of pending danger. Bet he's into all the gun magazines and prolly plays army, cowboys-n-Indians and cops-n-robbers in his backyard in his spare time. Might even be a card totting NRA member.

Teachers are educators,... not armed guards. No guns,... no reason to turn our schools into forts and armed castles! Stop being ridiculous!

Why did you underline his last name in your post?

The shooter seems to be troubled. ....seems there were red flags. Have to wonder what his parents knew (was he becoming even more disturbed)......AR15 SMH, the students didn't stand a chance.

May be related to Ted Cruz. Could be a Canadian or Cuban invasion of some type.

It’s never a 2a issue, to some. Stay ignorant to what’s going on around you.

Guns are as easy to get as candy bars, in this country. That’s the way it will be.

So, all you thoughts and prayers types, how well would you say those have been working?

Scale of 1 to 10.

He made threats to kill just last year.  He should have had his guns confiscated.  The 2A does not allow people to make threats to shoot people or to violate the law.

Of course, it's easier to pretend or deny that having armed teachers or keeping the doors secured, or even police on the outside in today's climate of school attacks might deter or minimize carnage like today's.

I'd like to see the death penalty too, but we all know who will oppose it even for cases like this.

They really don't have to bother reporting that it was a male. It pretty much goes without saying.

Except that the last school shooting you commented on was by a student who was a Hispanic female.

It was in response to comments who painted with a broad brush where one saw fit to post "Hahahaha! ROFLMAO" when someone said it was a white male since some want to be sticklers for detail when they find mass shootings like this to be something to guffaw over.

Certainly, none of his ilk on here were going to criticize him for that comment either. Maybe you objected to his comment and I just didn't see it.  Good for you if you did.  Shame on you if you didn't.

He should have never had guns. He did. Nothing will change. Plenty of kids shoot guns. Heck we even have magazines for our junior shooters. Guns are encouraged in our society. More kids will die, more families shattered, but rest easy, nothing to do with the 2A. More guns, please.

I saw the post, but just blew it off. I expect these types of comments from that poster. And I hadn't seen anything on the internet that confirmed the shooter's ethnicity.

Probably picked it up from:

With anyone looking to politicize the tragedy in Parkland, Florida, various right-wing figures have used the last name “Cruz” to speculate that the shooter is not only Hispanic, but also a dreamer—meaning the child of an undocumented immigrant. No one knows if this is the case, but plenty of people—including former operator of revenge porn site IsAnybodyDown and current outsider Senate hopeful Craig Brittain—are saying it’s true anyway.

A — not the — reason why people commit these crimes in this day and age, in our country, is because there is much less of a sense of a community than in other places and in our nation’s history.  When sick, unstable people feel no sense of belonging, and really no purpose to the community, they want to inflict the pain they feel has been dealt to them (obviously drastically disproportionately so, but they are sick and/or evil so they can not grasp the disproportionality).

Ignorant is pretending that people didn't miss obvious signs that this guy was too dangerous to have those guns.  Specifically, he said he was going to kill people.

Ignorant is pretending that repeat violent offenders aren't slapped on the wrist all too often when they're arrested, have priors, and wind up with another nolle prosequi or have the gun charges dropped more than once.  That might not be the case here, but you know damn well it's true in Baltimore where you also whine about guns and blame everyone but the criminals who commit the crimes, so save your personal insults.
