It is Florida.  Everyone has a Hispanic name.  Or a huge proportion anyway.

I wouldn't say "huge." Many retirees in FL from the"snowbird" states may disagree.  About 23% of Floridians have Hispanic ancestry.

Oddity that it may be, i know several people with Hispanic last names that can't speak a word of Spanish and have pronounced "Bawlmorese" accents.

Ignorant is pretending that people didn't miss obvious signs that this guy was too dangerous to have those guns.  Specifically, he said he was going to kill people.

Ignorant is pretending that repeat violent offenders aren't slapped on the wrist all too often when they're arrested, have priors, and wind up with another nolle prosequi or have the gun charges dropped more than once.  That might not be the case here, but you know damn well it's true in Baltimore where you also whine about guns and blame everyone but the criminals who commit the crimes, so save your personal insults.

So are we going to ban people that the government feels are “too dangerous” from owning guns? You think that’s gonna go over well? Did this guy have a criminal record?

Not a 2A issue.

This happened in another "gun free" zone.

The shooter's name is Nicholas Cruz.

Former student who was expelled and banned from visiting and entering the school.

Previous threats had been made, including one to kill people there last year.

Preoccupation with guns according to his Facebook page according to latest news.

I just made a comment earlier today about how government buildings are protected under multiple armed guards but people are afraid of having teachers who are trained and qualified to handle weapons to help protect schools.

I'm wondering if the former student was also stopped by someone with a gun.  If so, it might have happened much sooner had they had more than one officer, if that, or armed teachers on the campus.

Clearly not a 2A issue. If he went in and killed these 17 victims with a baseball bat, the liberal left would want to ban Louisville Sluggers (according to their fallacious logic).

This is a blip.

It will be  forgotten in less than a week. I've watched 2 minutes of it. Glad there weren't a lot of  casualties. Now back to my movie. Fist of the Drunken Master.

😑

Five deadly Venoms is my all time favorite.

17 kids did not come home from school yesterday. They will never come home again, because another kid had a gun.

18 school shootings this year so far. We all know there will be a 19th. We all know it will never end. We all know it will only get worse.

When you have a country with a totally out of control gun problem, many more days like yesterday are bound to happen. It won’t ever stop.

May those 17 kids Rest In Peace.

We are 4% of the world's population.

We own 40% of the world's guns.

We are the only nation with this recurring nightmare.

Wonder what it could be....

But he didn't use a baseball bat.

He used a rapid fire, magazine fed weapon.

Other countries don't have this problem. They have bats and knives and rocks.

Now think, what makes us different?

Obviously you can't have stricter gun laws.  You need laxer laws so everyone can have a gun and save the day.

The stupidity is stunning. We are a distinct outlier when it comes to these ever more common mass shootings

In your job, if you were tasked with analyzing why one production team always exhibited a rejection rate 10x all the other teams, would you:

-refuse to acknowledge the problem?

-shrug and say nothing can be done?

Or,  would you isolate the variable/s unique to this one team and address those? Starting with the ones with the highest variance?

Golly, seems like a real head scratcher, don't it.

I am so sick of knuckle draggers.

Gov Rick Scott has identified the problem. It is "pure evil".

Everybody go to church and we'll be good.

Sounds like a guy not comfortable with a debate about gun control...

Guess we're the only country with evil citizens huh.

Well that's discouraging.

18 school shootings in 45 calendar days. That’s not counting the time kids were off for holidays etc.

America you’ve got a problem. What are you going to do about it?

Not to argue, but "another kid" did not have a gun. A 19 year-old adult had a gun.

What's your solution?  Do you favor a ban of the sale of all rapid fire magazine fed weapons?

If we banned the sale of them today (no exceptions, no semi auto rifles or hand guns can be sold from this point forward) what do you do with the 200 million semi auto guns that are already out there?

Unless we talk about the guns that have already been sold, moving forward with a ban on future sales will have no effect.

So what should we do?  Just take no action?

Banning them would be a good start. And the magazines, ammunition.

And of course a ban would have an effect. It's just math.

And mandate handing over ones people own. As in make it a crime to own.

Won't immediately take them all but over time it will.

The shooter seems to be troubled. ....seems there were red flags. Have to wonder what his parents knew (was he becoming even more disturbed)......AR15 SMH, the students didn't stand a chance.

He was adopted. His Dad died in 2006. He Mom just died in December.

One of his former classmate friends said he was bullied his 1st few years at the school.

He posted on YouTube that he was going to become a "professional school shooter", according to this morning's news. Seems to me that such a post which was reported, should have been a sufficient threat that would create a criminal record, and any weapons found in his possession could have been confiscated and the legal purchase of any weapons prohibited for him.

Unfortunately even though that post was reported to authorities no such follow up ever took place, which is absurd. Here's a prime example of the warning signs being on full display and being ignored, leading to this kind of tragedy.
