Records of Futility

2 posts in this topic

I'm pretty sure everyone here caught the number of dubious records approached, produced or equaled by Bundy's Night of Infamy, for example the first time since 1908 a pitcher allowed 4 HRs without recording an out, but I wonder how many caught this little gem hidden in the "Notes" piece in yesterday's Sun.  This team is really reaching back in time, and it ain't for the good stuff.

Paraphrase: The recent back to back 0-6 road trips were the first time a team has done that on trips of 5 or more games since the 1890 Pittsburgh Alleghenys.  1890!
