Big Dan’s powerful offense could only muster three hits last nite against some monkey turd that was 1-8 with a 4.59 ERA in 14 starts.

Everyone who takes the mound against the Orioles these days is Cy Young.  Must be a pitcher's wet dream to face this offense right now.

So I'm coaching a youth girls travel softball team. Recently we spent a lot of time on learning to run to first with our heads and eyes focused on the base, and listening to their coach. The message being largely that watching the ball only slows you down.

Adam Jones was just caught on slow motion replay, clear as could be, trying to beat out a double play ball in the 9th... head turned and watching the second baseman making the play.

Guess I'm teaching these kids the wrong way to play...

I know it's infuriating, especially for someone who's coaching kids like you are and are trying to instill solid fundamentals.  But there's so few ball players today who hustle, give two craps about it and are fundamentally sound.  Those days are toast, my friend.  It's hard enough to just get these idiots to START running to first because they're so hypnotized on where they've hit the ball.

That’s the NEW ‘Oriole Way’

Losing 50 before winning 20.

I didn't think they could pull it off!

Kudos to all involved!

Big Dan & Peter Angelos are still assessing the situation.

Dan's pushed back the assessment until the Fourth of July.  Memorial Day was strictly for pondering the enormity of the abomination.

Is it wrong to root for a Marlins sweep? :P

No

The other night one of the announcers said the Orioles have hit 17 straight solo home runs.  The last home run with a runner on base was sometime in May.

And the streak is over!

Don't lose hope!  Even the 1962 Mets won 40 games.

Yeah, I guess.

I thought the Marlins had 'em in the top of the 7th.

Drat!

They were up 5-1 when I hit the ice last night, so I feared for the worst.

Was nice to return and find that they'd lost.

Never give up hope that they can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. And just wait till Davis comes back! My brother has one of the bobble heads of Davis from when he could play. It's hard to look at it, knowing how far the man has fallen.
