Guess it doesn't help when your losing your top kids to the other Private Schools.

Think the bigger issue was going 2-8 with all the talent that was there last year.

Not a big surprise....it has been rumored since February and it has been rumored since March that he was heading to SFA as possible DC (he is one of McGregor's "favorites")...one of the reasons Deno didn't stick around.....

The offense line was terrible last year. Tengwall is going to be very good. He was ok at best last year as a freshman. They rest of the O line, well, it went down from there.... The defensive line was not much..... They had no chance to be better then that.

SFA would be a good fit for Thomas right now. He can obviously get talent to play for him. That’s not an issue. Coaching at SFA and experiencing the in’s and out’s of a program of that level will add to his value as a coach. He’s young. I expect to see him in a HC position within a few years.

its kinda crazy that their only two wins were from the league champion St Marys and the runner up Severn.

the talent was definitely there as shown by their 2 wins against the teams that played in the conference championship. 5 of their 8 losses were by 1 score or less so flip a couple of those games and it's a different record. definitely would have had a better record if all the coaches were on the same page. You could see watching them that there were issues.

Was he "asked to step down"?

Otherwise leaving a program at the end of May doesn't seem like a very nice thing to do to your current or incoming players.

Isn't it considered more professional to announce your intentions of leaving at the end of a "season", so the school and the incoming players can make decisions.

just like araiderfan said, the rumors were out there for months that he was leaving. Despite the bad season, he had 2 playoff appearances and a championship is his 3 seasons so you wouldn't think the school asked him to leave.

I don't believe he was asked to step down. I don't  believe there was much of an incoming class coming in as their head "recruiter" was removed from his "in house" position. 8 or so of their best players were already "rumored" to be leaving or had  left before rumors of Thomas leaving surfaced....

The biggest domino in causing all of this was Justin Winter leaving for UMD last spring who has since left UMD ( which is a huge hit in their recruiting department as far as on campus recruiting goes ).....

I guess all that bravado against McDonogh before they got escorted off the field and big talk of competing in A division went away real fast.  Funny how winning the B division seems to give teams a false sense of ability.  Your in the B division for a reason.

I wrote about this weeks ago. He’s already at SFA. Reason why Corum is headed there.

Reason why Corum is headed to SFA is that Gonzaga refused his acceptance.....With Pallotti's AD being the MIAA Football Commissioner, it should be interesting to see how this transfer plays out. I am sure they will be checking for every crossed "t" and dotted "I" in this case.......

Ok that makes sense. I probably passed over it. SFA better work some magic for their OOC schedule. I’m not hearing good things.

Also, how is this transfer going to get green lighted? I thought MIAA to MIAA = sit out year?

30 mile rule, MIAA Rules state:

3.  Limits of Participation A student may not represent any school, regardless of its affiliation to this Association, in any one sport at any competitive level for more than four years.  Additionally, students may only be enrolled in grades 9-12 for participation in association athletic programs. A student may not represent more than one school during any academic year in interscholastic athletics regardless of its affiliation to this association.  A student athlete may appeal this guideline based on a move of his primary residence of at least 30 miles. A student who has graduated from a secondary education program, either domestic or foreign, is not eligible to participate. Participation, in regards to any transfer policy, is defined as practicing or scrimmaging during the regular season, beginning with the 1st try-out/practice date or playing in any interscholastic competition. Any transfer student who is deemed ineligible can practice or workout with their team, however they may not compete in any interscholastic competitions.

I guess he's moving from VA to Baltimore, which would be more then 30 miles,

Palotti also had a lot of their star talent transfer out. So far, heres all the transfers from my count:

Good Counsel:

Landon Tengwell OT (2021) and Di'Omani Dickerson DT/OT(2020)

Avalon:

Korey Mcleod TE (2019)

Dematha:

Coziah Izzard DE (2020)

Saint Frances:

Blake Corum RB (2020)

Fauquier High School:

Brock Wallace LB (2020)

I know Colby Barnes....not a high level recruit...good counsel

Jalen McNair and Jason Scott to very good safeties haven't announced where they are heading but would think they are gone....

Clay Vance, a QB also left for Avalon but in later October of this season....

there is already 10

ok thanks for the info. I knew about Clay Vance transferring from Saint Johns College High to Pallotti, then transferring out of Pallotti, I think it had something to do with his father just generally disliking the school. The MIAA B does look wide open this year,  John Carroll did graduate a lot, as well as obtain a new coach (at least he announced it towards the end of the season), but I think they will still be pretty decent overall. St Pauls returns their QB and RB, both of who were incredibly talented, but loses every starting linemen. BL also graduates a lot of players, but still pertain a lot more such as University of North Carolina commit Giovanni Biggers. St Marys graduates almost their entire starting offense and defense, I do not think they are returning any skill players. Curley also graduates a lot of starters, however it will be interesting seeing them return back to the running double winged offense they previously used to run, the new coach also used to be on Murphys staff. Severn also graduated a lot of their starters however they return #15 Henry Rentz, it will be interesting to see them this year. I believe that Pallotti will be the worst team in the conference this year, it will be interesting to see how their recruits react to this decision.

Vance's last game was St. Paul's game. He was promised he would be the starter (allegedly) and when he got there couldn't beat out the senior who was a 3 year starter. They alternated the 2 QB's for the 1st 3 games and it was a disaster. Vance is not a QB and was a turnover machine. He saw 1 series against St. Mary's, threw a horrible pick and was moved to slot WR. He played a lot of slot WR vs. St. Paul's but decided to transfer to Avalon.
