IG report vindicates Hillary Clinton and Rod Rosenstein

86 posts in this topic

Jim Comey was out of bounds in his public comments on the Hillary Clinton email investigation

ABC News:

The Justice Department's internal watchdog has concluded that James Comey defied authority at times during his tenure as FBI director, according to sources familiar with a draft report on the matter.

One source told ABC News that the draft report explicitly used the word "insubordinate" to describe Comey's behavior. Another source agreed with that characterization but could not confirm the use of the term.

In the draft report, Inspector General Michael Horowitz also rebuked former Attorney General Loretta Lynch for her handling of the federal investigation into Hillary Clinton's personal email server, the sources said.

Given DOJ policy, Comey's decisions prior to the election remain inexplicable.

Maybe, but in Comey's defense, he was put in a no-win situation thanks to the idiotic move Bill Clinton made by compromising Lynch.  No matter what Comey did in that situation he was bound to piss a lot of people off.

The IG report is a huge slam on the Obama administration. Lynch, Comey and McCabe all seen as a bunch of incompetent idiots.

Well it's doesn't make them look good!

Will be interesting to see how Trump tries to conflate this with his sorry story about how DOJ is out to get him.

Insubordination is certainly a valid reason for a President to fire someone.

As are a few theorists who were 100% certain the firing of Comey was undeniable proof of obstruction of justice.

Trump could’ve fired Comey on day 1 of his Presidency if he was really bothered by how Comey treated Hillary...

He had been praising Comey until he finally realized that Comey wouldn't take a knee for him.

Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor who leads Trump's personal defense team, told Business Insider in a recent interview that Trump's team was "anxiously awaiting" the final Comey report because it would show "the lengths these guys went to to hurt the president."

Help me out here. It seems that Comey's announcing that the FBI is reopening the Clinton email investigation, rather than hurt Trump, helped him.
