Hogan in Sandtown Today Proposing New Developer For State Center Project He Cancelled

27 posts in this topic

Quote

Michael Edney, an attorney for Ekistics and related business State Center LLC, did not answer questions about the status of the litigation or any potential settlement. He called Hogan’s announcement “a grand distraction from the State Center plan previously approved by Republican and Democrat Governors that is ready to build today.”

“Governor Hogan cancelled that plan; Governor Hogan started litigation with the developer who was ready to build it; and it is Governor Hogan who has no desire whatsoever to revitalize Midtown Baltimore, otherwise he would allow the existing plan to proceed,” Edney said in a statement.

Hogan was expected to tour the State Center campus Thursday afternoon during his day-long visit to Baltimore. He held his cabinet meeting Thursday morning at the Shake & Bake Family Fun Center.

Ekistics has been involved in the State Center development since 2009, when former developer Struever Bros. Eccles and Rouse left the project. Ekistics CEO Caroline Moore had been a project manager on State Center for Struever.

So, if Ekistics has had the project since 2009, why wasn't it already built by the time Hogan got into office?

Makes sense, should have done under O'Malley.

The State Center project was cancelled by the Board of Public Works: The Governor, The Comptroller and the State Treasurer.

It was a unanimous vote.

The thread title is inaccurate.

Someone needs to get their facts straight.

When do facts matter to a lib./dem/ progressive /hug the city/hug the criminal  OPer that loves to BS everyone.

Probably true.

Maybe ….finally....voters are waking up....they hear so and so saying ….Hogan has cut money for schools to the city....I am sure more than a few went.....whhhaaa   what and double checked and found that so and so was blowing smoke.

I did sort of a mental talley of all the dem candidates. As a whole they had nothing new. But I wager that at least 96% of the negative statements were  flat out lies about the facts or total fabrications out of thin air.

At this point....IMO...Hogan would have to murder his wife and run over his new adopted puppies....three times and have it recorded and posted....for Hogan to lose.

But, stranger things have happened.

Democrats criticize Hogan for cancelling projects that have existed for decades and could have been approved and built during several democratic governors terms but went NOWHERE in that time.

Hogan had his chance and canceled two programs that were in development hell. Poop or get off the pot.

$15 million in state money approved for violence prevention in Baltimore is a photo-op? The dems are desperate.

He is actually 2nd most popular behind Charlie Baker of Mass.

For the 5th straight quarter, the top 10 governors are all Republicans.

Being either a red or blue Govnor or any rep for that matter is VERY important to some...party above (fill in the blank).

To me I could care less if a leader is from the 'Mars Invades' party....as long as they are even handed, fair and consider ALL of the needs of those they represent.

Admittedly, I personally would have a hard time voting for Jesus himself if he ran against Hogan.  Although JC has a pretty thick portfolio (the Bible) :D

Like dems ....some do ...some don't.

But here in the Peoples Republic of Maryland....non-functional brains in dems....by pure body count ….has a much bigger impact.

See the city for verification.
